Manolis Papadopoulos died at the age of 57. He was born on April 22, 1968. As a player, he played as a central defender. He wore the jerseys of Olympiacos and Ionikos Nikaia before transferring to AEK in the summer of 1992.

He played for the “Union” for three years, making 44 appearances and winning two league titles (1993, 1994). After leaving AEK, he also played for Apollon Athens and Ethnikos Piraeus.

In 2011, he returned to AEK as the coach of the youth team, and later served as assistant coach for the first team, as well as an interim head coach during the 2012/2013 season.
