Thanos Mikroutsikos: Musical tribute to his work by Rita Antoniou

On Wednesday, June 11th, in the Garden of the Megaron

Newsroom May 29 11:00

An artisit that Thanos Mikroutsikos deeply believed in was Rita Antoniou. He entrusted her with his songs, often sharing the stage with her. She continues to honor this valuable “vote of confidence” by consistently serving his work even after his passing.

On Wednesday, June 11th, Rita Antoniou will be at the Garden of the Megaron, along with the multi-member and eclectic Revanche band, to present a musical tribute to the great composer who left an indelible and very personal mark on Greek music.

Moreover, Thanos Mikroutsikos’ work does not belong to the past – it is always present. From generation to generation, it continues to inspire, move, and unite. A multifaceted work, poetic and political, that seems to carry within it something almost magical.

Having walked alongside him from 2006 until the end, Rita Antoniou is presenting for the first time a complete tribute without him on stage. “The moment has arrived,” she says. “Now I feel ready.” This moment is accompanied by musical collaboration with Revanche, a band that deeply loves Mikroutsikos and gives its own signature to every interpretation.

Together, they create a musical performance that strives – and succeeds – to bring Thanos closer to us, as we experienced him, as we loved him, and as we still listen to him.
