The Panhellenic exams for 2025 commence today, marking the start of a crucial assessment period for students across Greece. The exams are open to candidates from all Orientation Groups in both day and evening General Lyceums (GEL), with the schedule extending to Saturday, May 31, for students enrolled in Vocational Lyceums (EPAL).

Participation and Scope

A total of approximately 90,000 students are participating in the Panhellenic examinations, competing for a limited number of 68,788 university places available nationwide for the 2025-26 academic year. This underscores the high level of competitiveness and the importance of these exams in shaping future academic pathways.

Exam Schedule and Logistics

The official start time for the examinations has been set at 8:30 a.m., though students are advised to arrive at their examination centers no later than 8:00 a.m. Each exam session lasts exactly three hours, emphasizing the need for careful time management and thorough preparation.

Allowed and Prohibited Items

Candidates are permitted to bring the following items into the exam room:
– Valid identification (identity card or passport)
– The official candidate’s exam card
– A blue or black pen, pencil, eraser, and sharpener
– Geometric instruments, if required

– A wristwatch (excluding smartwatches)

Candidates must abstain from bringing:
– Books, notebooks, notes, or any written materials
– Correction fluids or tapes
– Mobile phones or any electronic devices capable of transmitting or receiving information
