The Donald Trump today again called on the chairman of the US Federal Reserve (FED) Jerome Powell to cut interest rates, with the US president noting that payroll processing firm ADP reported a slowdown in the rate of new job creation for the month of May.
“The ADP number is available. “Too late” Jerome Powell needs to cut the rate now. He is unbelievable. Europe has cut the interest rate nine times,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social network.
Trump has for months blamed the FED and Powell in particular for keeping interest rates too high.
He regularly launches verbal attacks on the Fed chief and has even said he wants to see him leave the Fed, but has no intention of trying to get him fired.
