Aphrodite Latinopoulou informed via an Instagram post that she has filed a lawsuit against the National Gallery over the now famous exhibition “The Seduction of the Bizarre – Intermediate Space.”
“Today, as a lawyer but above all as a Greek Orthodox Christian woman, I am filing a lawsuit against the National Gallery. And there will be an injunction. Someone had to say so far. With our money, an exhibition was set up that mocks our faith, where our Saints become caricatures, where our holy symbols are trampled on in the name of art” says the MEP and head of the “Voice of Reason” and adds: “Would they dare to mock Allah? Would they dare to scorn Allah? … The Gallery is not a private studio of elitist progressive pariahs who take out their complexes on orthodoxy. It is a legal entity under public law. And it is funded by us through our taxes. From me, from you, from every Greek.”
“They have mistaken our tolerance for weakness. So it is time to put some order. Now the Greek Justice takes over. The freedom of art stops where the insult to our Faith begins,” adds Latinopoulou.
