A fire that broke out at noon in an agroforestry area in the area of Stenyklaros, in the municipality of Oichalia, Messinia, is in progress.

40 firefighters, including two teams of hiking sections of the 9th EMODE, as well as 11 fire trucks, are working to extinguish the fire. Two firefighting aircraft are assisting from the air.

So far, there is no information if residential areas are threatened, and efforts are being made to contain the fire before daylight.
