A second group of Russian soldiers returned from captivity in Ukraine today, and a group of Ukrainian prisoners of war surrendered in the exchange, Russian news agencies reported, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
“A second group of Russian soldiers under the age of 25 was repatriated from territory controlled by the Kiev regime. In return, a group of prisoners of war was handed over by the Ukrainian armed forces,” the Russian Defense Ministry said, quoted by the TASS, Ria Novosti, and Interfax news agencies.
On the Ukrainian side, Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv had received wounded soldiers who needed immediate hospital treatment.
Yesterday, Monday, Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners of war under the age of 25 after an agreement was reached in direct talks between the two sides in Istanbul on June 2.
