An alarm was raised early Sunday afternoon after a helicopter crashed into the sea area at the Vouliagmeni Marina.
According to initial information, the helicopter had landed at the marina’s helipad and attempted to take off shortly afterward. However, just a few seconds after lifting off, it suddenly crashed for reasons that remain unknown at this time. The incident caused panic at the scene, as the area was crowded with swimmers and visitors, while footage obtained by protothema.gr captures the moment of the crash and the ensuing commotion.
The helicopter was carrying five people, who, according to early reports, are all safe. The passengers include four foreign nationals and one Greek, and their intended destination was Mykonos.

According to information from EKAV (the National Emergency Aid Center), four of the five individuals sustained minor injuries with bruises and are being transported to Asklipieio Hospital in Voula.

It is worth noting that earlier today, at least three other helicopters had landed and taken off from the Marina without any problems, according to witnesses at the beach.
