The graduation ceremony of the 17th Underwater Demolitions School of the Hellenic Army took place today, Friday, June 27, at the headquarters of the Special Forces Training Center in Nea Peramos.

According to the announcement by the Hellenic Army General Staff (HAGS), the school began on March 17.

Present at today’s ceremony were the Commander of the Special Warfare Command of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), Lieutenant General Georgios Manouras; the Director of the Special Forces Directorate of the HAGS, Brigadier General Christos Spanidis; active-duty officers; and relatives of the graduates.

As stated in the announcement, the purpose of the school is the operational special training of personnel from Special Forces units in underwater demolitions.

The training included, among other things, combat physical training, surface swimming, underwater navigation, sea jumping exercises, and athletic challenges.
