The administration of President Donald Trump has notified Harvard University that, following an investigation, it has determined the university violated federal civil rights laws in its treatment of Jewish and Israeli students, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
The report cites a letter sent Monday (June 30) to Harvard President Alan Garber, stating that if “adequate changes” are not implemented immediately, the university will lose all federal financial support and its relationship with the federal government will continue to be affected.
Reuters has not been able to independently confirm the report.
Trump has previously stated that he is seeking to impose changes on Harvard and other leading U.S. universities, which he claims have become hotbeds of antisemitism and “left-wing woke ideology.”
