Donald Trump expressed hope today, Tuesday, that a ceasefire in Gaza will occur “sometime next week,” speaking to reporters as he departed the White House en route to a migrant detention center in Florida.
The American president reiterated his assessment that negotiations are at a critical juncture. It is worth noting that three days earlier, Trump had told reporters that an agreement would be reached “within the next week.”
He also emphasized that the Gaza issue, as well as “the great success we had with Iran,” will be central topics in his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is expected to visit the White House next Monday. “We want to bring back the hostages,” he added.
