A wildfire that broke out near Marseille in southern France, in the Le Pennes-Mirabeau area, has led to the suspension of operations at Marseille-Provence International Airport, a spokesperson for the airport administration said.

Since midday, no plane departures or arrivals have taken place.
Some flights have been diverted to Nice, Nîmes, and other regional airports, the spokesperson noted.
