Changes are coming into effect regarding the payment timing of main and supplementary pensions from EFKA, based on Law 4611/2019 (Government Gazette A’ 73/17.05.2019), aiming for a more unified and simplified process for pensioners.
According to Article 34 of the law, the payment dates of main pensions are as follows:
- For salaried pensioners: The second-to-last working day of the previous month.
- For non-salaried pensioners: The fourth-to-last working day of the same month.
There is also provision for exceptional circumstances, where these dates may be changed following a justified decision by EFKA’s Board of Directors and approval from the Ministry of Labor.
In an important move, the Ministry of Labor, in cooperation with e-EFKA, has decided that supplementary pensions will be credited at the same time as main pensions — establishing this as a permanent practice.
Payment Dates for August 2025 Pensions (Main & Supplementary)
- Pensioners after 1/1/2017 (Law 4387/2016):
Those who retired from 2017 onward, via EFKA’s IT system (OPS-EFKA), will receive both main and supplementary pensions on Monday, July 28, 2025. - Non-salaried pensioners (OAEE, OGA, ETAA):
Retirees previously insured under OAEE, OGA, and ETAA — i.e., non-salaried — will also be paid on Monday, July 28, 2025, with both pensions deposited simultaneously. - Salaried pensioners (IKA, Public Sector, DEKO, NAT, Banks, etc.):
Those who were insured under IKA, NAT, the public sector, or other wage-based funds (TAP-OTE, DEI, TSP-ISAP, ETAT, ETAP-MME) will be paid on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. On the same day, temporary pensions for military personnel, police, and firefighters, as well as pension advances for those newly retiring, will also be paid.
Permanent Joint Pension Payments
With this unification, e-EFKA helps beneficiaries better plan their finances and improves the fund’s cash flow management.
The new system is based on these rules:
- For non-salaried pensioners and those who retired after 2017: Payment is on the fourth-to-last working day of each month.
- For salaried pensioners (former IKA, public sector, etc.): Payment is on the second-to-last working day of the month.
