A wildfire broke out at midday in a dense, virgin forest of fir and pine trees in Feneos, Corinthia, and is described as very difficult. An evacuation order has already been issued via 112 alert for the area of Kastania, directing residents toward Stymfalia.
Firefighting forces are continuously being reinforced. As Peloponnese Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos told protothema.gr, the situation is challenging, and numerous aerial assets have already been requested. Water trucks from nearby municipalities are also rushing in to help contain the blaze as quickly as possible.
Currently, 115 firefighters, 38 vehicles, 2 aircraft, and 8 helicopters are operating in the area, with municipal water trucks assisting in the effort to extinguish the fire.
