A violent altercation occurred on the afternoon of Thursday (July 25) at a beach bar in Alimos.
Specifically, the incident took place at 5 PM between a 27-year-old Syrian and a 41-year-old Israeli. The 27-year-old is accused of causing grievous bodily harm and verbal abuse with racist characteristics, while the 41-year-old faces charges of simple bodily harm and verbal abuse, also with a racial motive.
The Syrian was brought before the investigating judge, who gave him a deadline to testify on July 30, and he remains in temporary custody. The Israeli, who was injured, was hospitalized at “G. Gennimatas” Hospital, where the judge went to take his testimony. After his statement, he was released.
The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Southeast Attica Security Subdirectorate.
