British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced Tuesday that his country will recognize Palestine as a state by the United Nations General Assembly in September unless Israel agrees to a cease-fire.

He said the time to recognize Palestine is now, as it will have the greatest impact.

It will be recalled that French President Emmanuel Macron had made a similar announcement last week.
