Outbound flights from London grounded due to technical problem

Departures suspended as air traffic control limits flights over London airspace for safety

Newsroom July 30 06:52

A technical issue that emerged on Wednesday afternoon has caused the grounding of all departing flights from both London and Edinburgh airports.

Arriving flights, however, are not affected.

The UK’s air traffic control authority (NATS) announced that, for flight safety reasons, it is limiting the number of aircraft allowed to fly through London airspace.

At this stage, it remains unclear how long the disruption will last.

Passengers are advised to check with their airline for updates on their flight status.
