No injuries were recorded in the incident that occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Athens’ busiest commercial street, Ermou.

Due to powerful winds, a large tree located at the junction of Ermou and Evangelistria broke and fell to the ground.

The tree “landed” next to a cookie seller who was at the spot, while a tourist was passing by the street at the time, who was frightened and quickly moved away.

On the spot, the Fire Brigade and the Police arrived, while the tree will be removed by the municipality of Athens.
