US President Donald Trump said yesterday (Thursday) that a “historic peace summit” will be held in Washington today involving himself, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia – two former Soviet republics in conflict over decades over sovereignty over disputed territories.

“These two nations have been engaged in war for many years, resulting in the deaths of thousands of people. Many leaders have tried to end this war, without success, until now, thanks to ‘Trump,'” the Republican president said via Truth Social, referring to himself in the third person and capitalizing his last name.

He explained that he will host a “peace (agreement) signing ceremony” by Azeri President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Pashinian at the White House.
