Alexandra Nikolaidou: The moving post from her family – “A monster stood before her and she fought until the end”

The 41-year-old passed away yesterday after a battle with cancer – Her funeral will take place on Tuesday

Newsroom August 24 06:22

With a lengthy post, Alexandra Nikolaidou’s family bid her farewell, saying she fought bravely and to the very end against cancer. The 41-year-old passed away yesterday, after having been hospitalized for the last 10 days at Evangelismos Hospital.

Her family posted on Facebook on Sunday, August 24, announcing that Alexandra’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 26, at 12:30 p.m. at the Cholargos Cemetery. They also stated that, instead of wreaths, the family wishes donations to be made to the parents’ association of children with neoplastic disease, Floga.

The post was accompanied by two photos of the late woman, one of which shows her with a shaved head.

They described the cancer that entered her life as a “monster” and emphasized that Alexandra Nikolaidou was a fighter throughout the entire period she battled the disease.

“Yesterday we said goodbye to our little sister, Alexandra. A girl with the heart of a small child. Because that’s what our Alexandra was – a child. Full of craziness, of smiles, of carefree spirit, always willing to help everyone, sensitive and compassionate. A monster stood before her, and then this child stood strong, brave, and fought until the end. Always with the smile and the positive energy that defined her. A fighter who taught us to cherish every moment that passes in our lives. Her time with us cannot be measured in years, but in the moments that left an indelible mark on our lives. Our sister, always and everywhere, we will have you beside us. You are the light that will guide us and protect us.

We will say goodbye to our Alexandra on Tuesday, 26/08, at 12:30 at the Cholargos Cemetery. Instead of wreaths, donations will go to the parents’ association of children with neoplastic disease, Floga (a donation box will be available at the site).

Her sisters and her family.”
