Well-known hairdresser Tryfonas Samaras spoke about the serious car accident that occurred early Friday morning on the Thessaloniki–Moudania highway, outbound from the city, as well as about his connection with the arrested 45-year-old owner of the Porsche.
Speaking on the TV program Live News, he said he had met the 45-year-old businesswoman the day before, and on Thursday night the two of them, along with one of her friends, went out to two different nightclubs.
“Yesterday I was invited by a journalist friend of mine to meet Konstantina (the 45-year-old), because on Monday we were supposed to do some stories with the Porsche and some other cars… I met the ladies yesterday. We went out to a club, and she (the Porsche owner) told me: ‘I have a Porsche, why don’t you come along too?’ So I sat in the passenger seat, but her friend Christina was driving. It was around 2 a.m. when we were heading to the second club,” Samaras explained.
A video uploaded on social media shows their night out before the accident.
“We stayed there until almost 4 a.m. They drove me back to the hotel with the Porsche and left me there. I would have stayed to help her, but she had her friend with her. Her friend, Christina, was driving the car, that’s why I felt at ease,” the hairdresser added.
Asked whether he noticed if the 45-year-old was intoxicated, Samaras replied:
“She was quite cheerful, not dizzy… To be honest, I didn’t drink anything. The other two had drunk, but within reasonable limits, since we had already been at another club before… a few shots, but nothing excessive.”
It should be noted that earlier today, the owner of the black Porsche admitted to authorities that she was the one behind the wheel, claiming that friends of hers in another car picked her up afterward and took her to a hospital – something the police have not confirmed.
The 45-year-old, who has been arrested, is a businesswoman who owns a beauty salon and a pawnshop. Tests confirmed she had consumed alcohol before driving and was still under the influence at the time of the breathalyzer test. According to newer information, the breath test conducted by traffic police showed a level above 0.8 mg/l.
Following her arrest, she was taken to hospital for a blood test to determine her exact blood alcohol concentration, while a case file has been filed against her.
