A change in the weather pattern with heavy rain and thunderstorms in the western and northern parts of the country is expected in the coming hours.

According to Sakis Arnaoutoglou’s forecast, the weather will be unstable today and tomorrow, while as for the next few weeks, no warm air mass seems to be coming, with temperatures remaining at normal seasonal levels. Local showers are expected from the morning in mountainous Epirus and the more mountainous parts of western Macedonia, while by midday they will extend further east.

According to the forecast of Klearchos Marousakis, the instability that occurred in several areas over the weekend will return in the next 24 hours in the country, bringing along intense phenomena.

For his part, meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafyllias, in a post, speaks of a warmer autumn with less rainfall. As he says, according to the seasonal forecasts from 8 weather centers for this autumn in Greece, rainfall will be less in eastern and southern Greece. Temperatures will be about 1 degree higher than normal. There is a tendency for less and milder bad weather. Increased probability of warmer seas compared to normal levels. Given the strengthening of the evaporation mechanism from this development, the occurrence of strong barometric lows cannot be excluded.”

Clouds are expected in the northwest, gradually extending to the rest of the mainland, except eastern Sterea and Peloponnese, the rest of the Ionian Sea, and the northern Aegean. Showers and thunderstorms with a possibility of hail will occur from morning to afternoon in the Ionian Sea, Epirus, Western Macedonia, and the western parts of Thessaly and Sterea. Subsequently, the phenomena will affect the eastern parts of Thessaly and Central Macedonia. Relatively elevated dust concentrations.

The temperature in Western Macedonia will range from 15 to 32 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 18 to 36, in Thessaly from 19 to 37, in Epirus from 16 to 28, in Western Sterea and Peloponnese from 18 to 33, in the rest of Central Greece and the Peloponnese from 19 to 37, in the Ionian Islands from 18 to 27, in the North and East Aegean Islands from 19 to 35, in the Cyclades and the Dodecanese from 23 to 33 and in Crete from 19 to 33 degrees Celsius.

Winds in the Aegean Sea will blow from the north at 3 to 5 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea, the winds will blow from northwestern directions 3 to 5 Beaufort and occasionally up to 6 Beaufort.

In Attica, sunshine is expected. Winds will blow from the north at 2 to 4 Beaufort. Dust concentrations in the atmosphere will be relatively high. The temperature in the center of Athens will range from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius.

In the prefecture of Thessaloniki, clouds are expected from noon. The winds will blow from variable directions up to 3 Beaufort, but in the evening they will become northerly 2 to 4 Beaufort. Dust concentrations in the atmosphere will be relatively high. The temperature in the center of Thessaloniki will range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.

The weather on Thursday, September 4

In western and central Macedonia and gradually in Epirus and Thessaly, clouds, partly cloudy with local showers and occasional thunderstorms, are expected to weaken from late afternoon. In the rest of the country a few local clouds, partly increasing in the mainland in the afternoon afternoon when there will be local rain and mainly in the mountains of western Central Greece and Peloponnese, isolated thunderstorms.

The winds will blow from the north from 3 to 5 Beaufort and in the sea locally up to 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly. It will reach 32 to 33 degrees Celsius in the mainland, Crete, and the Dodecanese. In the rest of the island country, it will not exceed 29 to 30 degrees Celsius.
