Trump about the murder of Iryna Zarutska: “When we have horrible murders, we have to take horrible actions” – He further promotes the National Guard deployment

The US President Donald Trump yesterday, Monday, condemned the murder of a Ukrainian refugee on a train in North Carolina by a black American. The event gives one more reason to the Trump administration to expand crime-fighting operations in U.S. cities controlled by Democrats.

This murder, which occurred on August 22, was in the spotlight over the weekend after the public transportation management company for the city of Sharlotte in North Carolina published a video in which the crime has been recorded.

The video shows a black man holding a small knife attacking without warning or any apparent reason 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska, who is sitting in front of him, stabbing her multiple times.

Shockingly, it was only after the murder circulated on Elon Musk’s X social media platform that the legacy media decided to write an article about it. This infuriated the US citizens as it is a serious blow to the credibility of the mainstream media outlets.

In remarks from the Bible Museum in Washington, D.C., Trump yesterday linked the killing to his threats to deploy the National Guard in Chicago and other cities whose authorities are pro- Democratic Party.

“When we have horrible murders, we have to take horrible actions,” the Republican President said.

Trump extended “his love” to Zarutska’s family. “There are bad people. We have to be able to deal with it. If we don’t deal with it, then we don’t have a country,” he stressed.

Zarutska arrived in the U.S. three years ago with her mother and siblings, a refugee from Ukraine. As her family wrote, she was “a gifted and passionate artist” with a degree in art restoration from a Kiev college and dreamed of becoming a veterinary assistant.

The perpetrator of the attack, 34-year-old Decarlos Brown, is charged with intentional homicide. A judge has ordered that he be committed to a hospital for at least 60 days to undergo psychiatric evaluation.

Brown has a lengthy criminal record and has served time for armed robbery. Most recently, he was arrested in January for calling the emergency number 911 asking authorities to investigate a device someone had placed inside him in order to control his behavior. He was then released by a court and later asked to undergo a psychiatric examination.

Trump administration officials attacked Democratic politicians in Charlotte, pointing out that Brown should be in jail.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Shawn Duffy complained on Sunday to X that Charlotte authorities “failed to properly punish” Brown and therefore failed to protect Iryna Zarutska and North Carolina residents.

For his part, White House counsel Steven Miller attacked Democrats in a post in which he advocated for tougher crime-fighting measures.

Charlotte Mayor Vee Liles, a Democrat, said: “My heart is broken, as are many of you. I’ve been thinking a lot about what safety in our city really looks like. I remain committed to doing everything I can to protect our residents and ensure that Charlotte is a place where everyone feels safe.”

Meanwhile, Liles called Zarutska’s murder a “tragic failure of the courts and judges” and pledged to deploy more police officers on public transportation.
