A man entered a school today in the city of Antibes, in southern France, armed with a knife and injured two people, police announced. “The perpetrator has been arrested and no longer poses a threat,” a police spokesperson said.
According to French television network BFMTV, the man injured a 16-year-old student and a 52-year-old teacher. The teacher sustained serious injuries but her life is not in danger. The 16-year-old student suffered minor wounds.
Police reported that the attacker, 18 years old, was a former student of the school, but were unable to immediately provide details regarding his motives.
