Torrential rain, landslides and flooding have hit northern and central Italy in the last 24 hours.
Fire services carried out 280 interventions in Lazio, Liguria, Tuscany and Lombardy, with Rome attracting the highest number of emergency calls.
Particularly in Rome and its surroundings – from Brazzano and Sacrofano, to Castelli Romani and the coastal front – more than 100 operations were carried out, mostly for falling trees and branches, flooding, and dangerous signs and poles that needed stabilizing.
Severe damage was also recorded in the Como region.
