The 20 most popular names in Greece for the period from 1940 to 2021 have been announced by ELSTAT based on the processing of data from the latest registration.

As seen in the video posted, George has been in first place for all these years.

In second place is Constantinos, who battled with Giannis and Dimitris, while Alexandros and Angelos have made an impressive rise as the years have gone by.

According to ELSTAT, the ranking concerns the most popular names by year of birth as a percentage % of people born in Greece in the corresponding year and belonging to the permanent population with Greek and other nationalities, while only the first name was calculated for double names.
