Digital Governance Minister presents Gov.gr Wallet (updated)

The Ministry of Digital Governance has launched a new version of the Gov.gr Wallet, integrating essential features of the gov.gr platform with significant new capabilities. The announcement was made by Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, during a press conference at the Ministry.

Designed to enhance the user experience, the Gov.gr Wallet now features a simpler, more user-friendly interface to make citizens’ daily interactions easier.

Minister Papastergiou and Deputy Minister Christos Dermentzopoulos emphasized that the application aims to simplify everyday life by reducing the need for in-person visits to public services.

Key Features of Gov.gr Wallet:

The Gov.gr Wallet allows users to create, store, and verify their digital documents. Supported documents include:

  • Digital ID cards and copies
  • Digital driving licenses
  • Digital disability cards
  • Digital DYPA (Public Employment Service) cards
  • Digital academic cards
  • Digital traffic zone permits
  • MyAuto service documents
  • Sports event tickets

Digital documents are legally equivalent to physical versions for all valid uses within Greece. However, digital ID cards and driving licenses are not valid as international travel documents.
