The Israeli army said it has taken “control” of the western part of the Netzharim corridor, closing the road back to Gaza City, while Israeli Defense Minister Israel Kats warned Palestinians that this is their “last chance” to withdraw.
It was announced that in the last 24 hours the 99th Division launched a new ground operation to “reinforce and maintain control” in the area. According to the army’s statement, “the forces are operating to disrupt the operational capabilities of the Hamas terrorist organization in the area and expand control in the sector.”
Despite the blockade, Israeli authorities still allow southern passage through Gaza City, but Palestinians are required to pass through checkpoints.
