Netanyahu will not, after all, go to Egypt for the Gaza summit

Earlier today, the White House and the Egyptian presidency said that the Israeli prime minister will attend Sharm el-Sheikh

The Israeli Prime Minister‘s office confirmed Monday afternoon that Netanyahu will not attend the summit in Egypt later today.

“Prime Minister Netanyahu has been invited by US President Trump to participate in a summit to be held today in Egypt,” his office said in a statement.

“The prime minister thanked President Trump for his invitation, but said he would not be able to attend due to the proximity of the event to the start of the holidays.”

Earlier today, the White House and the Egyptian presidency said the Israeli prime minister would attend.
