A new documentary titled “The Veiled World of Nick Cave”, focusing on the work of Nick Cave, is set to premiere on the British network Sky Documentaries.
The network announced that musicians Florence Welch, Colin Greenwood, and Warren Ellis, designer Bella Freud, filmmaker Wim Wenders, and author Irvine Welsh will share how Nick Cave has influenced their work and careers.
“Nick Cave is one of those incomparable artists whose storytelling power knows no bounds,” the press release states. “His vivid landscapes come alive through his brilliant books, music, and ceramics. We are delighted to unveil his richly layered world in this special feature.”
According to Sky, the special is produced by Supercollider, the company behind several BBC documentaries including “Live Aid at 40,” “Israel and the Palestinians: The Road to 7th October,” and “Paid in Full: The Battle for Black Music.”
The documentary is directed by Mike Christie, Supercollider’s creative director. Sky is also producing a six-part original series based on the Australian musician’s second novel, “The Death of Bunny Munro.” The series features an original score by Cave and his longtime collaborator Warren Ellis, and is scheduled for release on November 20.
