According to police sources, the arrest of the man who fatally stabbed a 37-year-old Bulgarian in the abdomen early Monday morning outside a nightclub in Peristeri is only a matter of time.
The perpetrator is reportedly a young Greek man, under 25 years old, who is known to the authorities and worked as “protection” (security/enforcer) in the same neighborhood.
Police investigators have learned that about 15 days before the murder, the suspect had been beaten by the Bulgarian victim and other individuals.
According to the same sources, it was because of that beating that the young man waited for the 37-year-old outside the club in the early hours of Sunday to take revenge.
A video published by protothema.gr shows the first moments after the murder in Peristeri.
It is also noted that the victim himself had a criminal record and had served a prison sentence in Larissa, maintaining contacts both within the prison system and in the nightlife scene after his release.
