The weather will remain unstable today with strong rains and thunderstorms, mainly in the western, southern, and eastern Aegean regions. Today (Thursday, October 23) is expected to bring intense storms in areas such as Zakynthos, Kefalonia, and the western Peloponnese. The phenomena will gradually extend eastward, affecting central and southern Greece, while the Dodecanese will also experience rain and thunderstorms.
From Friday, October 24, rainfall will become limited, and the weather will improve, with temperatures rising significantly, reaching 26–27°C in many regions by Saturday. However, on Monday, October 30, and Tuesday, October 31, a new weather front is expected, bringing a drop in temperatures and rain mainly in northern parts of the country.
According to meteorologist Thodoris Kolydas, today’s rains moving eastward will affect central, southern, and eastern Aegean regions, including the Dodecanese.

On Friday, unsettled conditions will persist in the west and eastern Aegean, while the weekend will see improved weather nationwide. On Tuesday, weather conditions will deteriorate again from the north.
Temperatures will remain stable until Saturday, but on Sunday and Monday they will rise significantly, reaching 26–27°C, and locally up to 29°C in northern Crete due to southerly (foehn-type) winds. By Tuesday, temperatures will drop noticeably with the passage of a Balkan weather front.
Meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafyllias, in a post on his social media, said that temperatures near 30°C cannot be ruled out toward the end of the week. Autumn rains will continue mainly in western, southern, and eastern island regions, while from Friday, October 24, rainfall will gradually subside. Over the weekend, in addition to long periods of sunshine, temperatures will climb 8–10 degrees above seasonal norms, Tsatrafyllias wrote on Facebook.
He added:
“On Sunday–Monday, thermometers will be close to 30°C in Thessaly, Fthiotida, Boeotia, Evia, eastern Peloponnese, and northern Crete. A first outlook for the weather on our national holiday indicates a weather system passing through, bringing a drop in temperatures and rain.”
