A well-known television chef with a long media career and international distinctions has been arrested by authorities for debts owed to the Greek State.
According to reports, the 58-year-old chef operated a food trading business for about five years, with total revenues estimated between €1.3 and €1.4 million.
Despite these substantial earnings, he allegedly failed to pay the corresponding VAT, accumulating debts to the State exceeding €350,000. He was convicted, and an indictment was issued against him for the offense.
On the morning of Friday, October 31, the chef was arrested and brought before the Athens Prosecutor’s Office to face enforcement of his sentence. He now faces the possibility of imprisonment unless he promptly settles his outstanding financial obligations.
Although in previous years he had temporarily avoided enforcement of the court’s decision, this time his legal grace period has expired, leaving him to face the full consequences of the ruling.
