Chaos on Saturday morning in Crete with at least three dead and several injured, after mass shootings with Kalashnikovs in the village of Vorizia, in Heraklion, with information stating that it was retaliation following an explosive device blast at a construction site late last night.
According to the first reports the residents of the village are transporting the injured to the hospitals in Heraklion with whatever means they have – even with farm trucks – as well as to the Health Centers of Moires and Agia Varvara, while EKAV has received a flood of calls and has sent six ambulances for the transfer of the victims.
Until this time the deaths of three people have been confirmed, who were transported to the Health Center of Moires and to Venizeleio Hospital.
Police forces have cut off access to the village of the Municipality of Phaistos for security reasons.


The explosion that caused the bloodshed
An improvised explosive device exploded last night in Vorizia.
According to the police, the deafening noise that was heard caused disturbance, however from the explosion, fortunately, there was no injury, only material damage to the house under construction in which the explosive device had been placed.
Men from the Phaistos Police Station and bomb disposal technicians immediately arrived on the scene. Today an inspection of the site was also carried out by officers of the Heraklion Sub-Directorate for Crime Prosecution.
