UPDATE:
Stavros Papastavrou
Mr. Papastavrou spoke of a historic opportunity. We are working hard on the necessary infrastructure, he said.
I think we will have significant announcements from the private sector from here. He spoke specifically about announcements from Exxon Mobil, Helleniq Energy and Energean which are active in exploration in the country.
Mr. Papastavrou noted that the goal is “to support peace and stability in the region”, that the presence of oil companies such as Exxon Mobil and Chevron strengthen the Greek positions while he reminded that Libya’s concession program is being adjusted to the median line.

Greece is the perfect entry point for the natural gas that will replace Russian gas in Europe, it is a heavenly opportunity, let’s take advantage of it together, the US Energy Secretary said.
I want to see Europe full of abundant energy, work with us to achieve it.
This is an opportunity to fully wean off Russian gas, the US has large quantities of LNG and if the infrastructure is created it can be transported to Europe. Every molecule of Russian gas that does not come to Europe stays in the ground and does not end up in Putin’s pockets.
Greece is the perfect entry point with the right infrastructure.

Mitsotakis: Greece is a natural gateway for American LNG
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis yesterday Wednesday had a meeting at the Maximos Mansion with the U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and the U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, within the framework of which the strategic character of Greek-American relations and of the energy cooperation between Greece and the USA was confirmed, ahead of the summit.
The Prime Minister referred to the crucial role of Greece in the utilization and development of the Vertical Corridor, as well as of the infrastructures it has developed, such as the LNG terminals of Revythousa and Alexandroupolis, which turn it into a transport hub of liquefied natural gas and into an energy gateway up to Moldova and Ukraine.
Acceleration factors
The conference is taking place at a critical juncture, as European suppliers are preparing for the period after the end of 2027, when the supply of Europe with Russian natural gas will be completely cut off.
At the same time, the clock is counting down for the implementation of the EU – USA agreement, which provides for energy imports worth 750 billion dollars within three years, redefining the energy balance of the continent.
