The U.S. ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, visited the naval base in Souda, Crete a few days ago.
As she noted in a post on X: “this vital base contributes to regional security, NATO readiness, and stability across the entire Eastern Mediterranean.”
The ambassador also stated: “I was impressed by the remarkable capabilities and operations that make the Souda Bay base essential for our shared security objectives.”
“The professionalism and dedication of both U.S. and Greek military personnel, combined with the strong support of local Greek authorities and local community partners, reflect the deep trust and cooperation that continue to strengthen our alliance every day,” Guilfoyle said.
