One week is completed today since the deadly incident in Vorizia, with two people shot dead in an exchange of fire between two rival families after a bomb had been placed in a building a few hours earlier.
Hellenic Police investigations are in full progress both for the identification of those involved in the deadly fight and who placed the bomb from which everything appears to have started.
In this context today, brought before the investigating judge from Alikarnassos prison, where he is being held, was the older brother of Fanouris Kargakis, one of the two victims in Vorizia, as well as his nephew and his brother-in-law.
The older brother of the 39 year old has been incarcerated since last September for a livestock theft case, and what the police want to see is whether he has any connection with the bomb.
It is also recalled that four days ago a raid took place in Alikarnassos prison by the officers of the Organized Crime Division of the Hellenic Police.
The investigation on the weapons
Earlier today, the spokesperson of the Hellenic Police, Konstantia Demoglidou, said regarding the investigation related to the finding and identification of the weapons used in the clash that so far four weapons have been identified, while “it is clear that many more were used.”
Investigations continue in cooperation with the Forensics Laboratories, in order for the ballistic tests to be completed and for the involvement of specific weapons to be determined.
Regarding those involved in the case, Ms Demoglidou noted that “no one has accepted up to now the illegal possession of weapons or the use of weapons,” while the investigative procedures continue in order to clarify the role of each individual.
