The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, highlighted the challenges and opportunities opening up for the craft industry and for Northern Greece in a social media post on the occasion of his participation in the event marking the 100th anniversary of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Small and Medium-Sized Industries (BETh).
As Mr. Pierrakakis emphasized, “Northern Greece has the foundations, the people, and the ideas to take a leading role in the new era. I had the opportunity to confirm this yesterday during my meetings with the Deputy Minister of Macedonia–Thrace, Konstantinos Gioulekas, and with representatives of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Small and Medium-Sized Industries.”
“At the event celebrating the Chamber’s 100 years,” he continued, “we discussed the major transformations, challenges, and opportunities facing the craft sector in today’s era of rapid technological change. We are providing incentives and support tools that will help small and medium-sized enterprises grow—dramatically increasing their ability to secure financing and to develop a strong export-oriented identity.”
