Kyriakos Mitsotakis took part via videoconference in the exchange of views and briefing of European Union leaders on the latest developments in Ukraine, which was organized on an extraordinary basis by the President of the European Council, António Costa, on the sidelines of the EU – African Union Summit in Angola.

During the videoconference, there was a shared understanding of the progress made in yesterday’s meetings between the United States and Ukraine in Geneva, while the efforts of Presidents Trump and Zelensky were welcomed.

Furthermore, the leaders agreed that any decision that falls within the competences of the European Union will be immediately discussed with EU member states and will need to be agreed upon by them.
