“I am the businessman Mazonakis is referring to,” says Thanasis Papageorgiou, who sends him a legal notice

Thanasis Papageorgiou, owner of the nightclub Fever, has sent a formal legal notice to Giorgos Mazōnakis, detailing their collaboration, the financial arrangements involved, and the reasons that, as he claims, led him to take this legal action

Newsroom December 19 02:38

Through the legal notice, the businessman demands the return of money which, according to him, amounts to hundreds of thousands of euros, and accuses the singer of filing a complaint with the Extortion Unit because he did not want to pay the money being requested. As stated, Mazonakis alleged that Papageorgiou and others were harassing him and extorting money from him.

At the same time, Papageorgiou categorically rejects any connection with complaints relating to third-party cases of sexual harassment, clearly stating that there is no involvement or association whatsoever.

According to the content of the legal notice, it had been agreed that Giorgos Mazonakis would perform ten shows at the nightclub “Fever,” starting in March 2025, at a rate of one appearance per week.

However, the agreement was not fully honored, as the singer did not carry out all the scheduled performances, allegedly due solely to his own responsibility, while also causing problems in the collaboration. Nevertheless, it is emphasized that the fees for the performances that did take place were paid in full and on time.

The document also refers to a second agreement concerning the winter season of 2025–2026, involving performances twice a week at the same venue. In this context, extensive renovation work was carried out at the club following requests and instructions from Giorgos Mazonakis, at significant financial cost. An advance payment was also made for the future collaboration, which was eventually returned after repeated demands.

Furthermore, the legal notice states that from February 2025, services were provided at the company’s sole expense, including 24-hour security, a domestic helper for daily support, and a range of personal expenses such as hotel stays, jewelry purchases, medical expenses, and daily necessities. All these benefits, it is noted, were provided in anticipation of the agreed collaboration for the following season.

Special reference is made to the summer of 2025, during which—according to the legal notice—Giorgos Mazōnakis was provided with financial, moral, and psychological support. This included coverage of daily expenses, payment of a doctor’s fee following an eye operation the singer underwent, as well as full legal support to ensure a positive outcome in a personal matter during his hospitalization at Dromokaiteio Psychiatric Hospital.

Papageorgiou further claims that instead of commencing the agreed collaboration in the fall of 2025, the singer began negotiating performances with third parties, systematically delaying their agreement and unilaterally altering the original terms. Communication was eventually cut off, while the business reportedly learned from third parties and media reports about discussions with other nightlife venues.
