According to Serbian media, members of Kičara’s team entered the ring and attacked the Greek athlete. In fact, it is reported that the Serbian fighter’s brother punched Tsoukalas in the face while he was kneeling to pray.

The tension escalated rapidly, with around 50 people invading the competition area and a general brawl breaking out. The event organizers were unable to restore order, claiming that there was insufficient security personnel to deal with such an incident.

As reported by Serbian media, Giannis Tsoukalas was immediately transferred from Novi Pazar to a hospital in Belgrade for precautionary examinations. After undergoing the necessary checks and being discharged, he returned to Greece.
