Registrations are now open for the “Certificate of Attainment in Greek Language” exams

Officially recognised by the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, the Certificate of Attainment in Greek is the only national qualification confirming proficiency in Greek

Newsroom February 17 12:02

Registrations are now open for the 2026 Certificate of Attainment in Greek, with exams taking place this May at the Greek Community of Melbourne (Examination Center Code: 61007).

Officially recognised by the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, the Certificate of Attainment in Greek is the only national qualification confirming proficiency in Greek as a foreign or second language, from A1 (for children aged 8–12) through to C2.

Candidates who turn 8 years old by 31 May 2026 are eligible to sit the examinations.

A1 Level:

  • Children aged 8–12 (as at 31 May) sit the A1 Children’s examination
  • Candidates over 12 (as at 31 May) sit the A1 Adolescents/Adults examination.

There are no formal age limits for other levels. However, candidates under 16 are strongly advised not to attempt B2, C1 or C2, as these levels require advanced language proficiency and broader life experience.
