The 16-year-old Laura has been in the hands of the German police for a short time. She had left her home in Patras on January 8. The German authorities informed the Greek police, and the girl is expected to be placed in a child protection facility in Berlin. It is noted that her father has returned from Germany, while the Greek authorities are still unaware of the exact procedures the Germans will follow, under whose protection the minor now remains.
On February 9, a trace of Laura’s presence in Berlin was detected, and throughout the period, the Hellenic Police maintained continuous communication with the German authorities and Europol. According to current information, the girl will communicate with her parents through a social worker, and the family will be informed by the German social services.
Laura had left her home in Aigio, and after extensive searches, it was confirmed that she had traveled to Germany via Lufthansa. The German airline informed the Greek police following a request from Greek authorities, while earlier multiple reports had placed the girl in areas of the Attica basin, which ultimately proved unfounded.
