Spring weather continues, temperatures to reach 19°C

Temporary rain is expected in Greece from Monday to Tuesday next week, according to Thodoris Kolydas.

The good weather will continue over the next few days, with temperatures reaching up to 19°C. Sunshine will prevail, though some local clouds will appear.

According to Thodoris Kolydas, the weather across the country will remain generally mild and spring-like through Saturday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, most areas will experience mostly clear skies, with only a few local clouds, mainly in the eastern and southern regions. In the mainland, visibility will be locally limited in the early morning, while winds will blow mainly from northern directions at 3–5 Beaufort, locally reaching 6 Beaufort in the Aegean.

Temperatures will be close to seasonal norms, ranging from 16–18°C and locally up to 19°C in western regions and southern Crete.

On Thursday and Friday, the weather will remain mostly clear, with occasional clouds and a slight chance of local rain, mainly in the northwest.

On Saturday, temporary clouds with isolated showers are expected, mainly in the mountainous areas of western and northern Greece. More notable but short-lived rain is expected from Monday to Tuesday next week.

Forecast for Tuesday, March 10

Generally clear weather with a few local clouds in the east and south. Early morning visibility in the mainland will be locally limited.

Winds: East-northeast 3–5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 in eastern and southern areas, gradually weakening in the afternoon.
Temperatures: Slight increase in the east. Northern areas up to 16°C, most of the country 17–18°C, and locally in the west, southern Crete, and the Dodecanese up to 19°C.

Attica: Clear with a few local clouds in the east and north in the morning. Winds: N-NE 3–5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 in the east. Temperatures: 7–17°C, slightly cooler in the east.

Thessaloniki: Mostly clear with a few morning clouds. Winds: Variable 3 Beaufort. Temperatures: 6–15°C.

Macedonia & Thrace: Mostly clear with a few local clouds. Winds: Variable 3–4, E-NE 4–5 in the east, locally 6–7 Beaufort in the morning. Temperatures: 3–16°C.

Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Central Greece, Western Peloponnese: Clear with local clouds in the south. Winds: E 3–5, locally up to 6 Beaufort in the morning. Temperatures: 7–19°C.

Thessaly, Eastern Central Greece, Evia, Eastern Peloponnese: Mostly clear, with locally increased clouds in the central and southern areas until noon. Winds: N-NE 3–5, locally up to 6 in the east and south until midday. Temperatures: 4–17°C.

Cyclades, Crete: Few clouds, locally increasing. Winds: E-NE, in the east SE 3–5, locally up to 6 in the west in the morning. Temperatures: 11–18°C, in southern Crete up to 19°C.

Eastern Aegean Islands & Dodecanese: Mostly clear. Winds: N-NE, in the south SE 3–5, locally up to 6 in the north in the morning. Temperatures: 11–19°C, 2–3°C cooler in the north.

Forecast for Wednesday, March 11

Crete, the Cyclades, and the Peloponnese will have locally increased clouds with a chance of isolated rain. Elsewhere, mostly clear skies with occasional clouds in Central Greece and Evia. Early morning visibility mainly in the mainland will be locally limited.

Winds: West: light and variable; South: E-NE 4–5 Beaufort; elsewhere N 3–5 Beaufort.
Temperatures: Little change; 16–18°C generally, locally up to 19°C in the west, southern Crete, and the Dodecanese.

Forecast for Thursday, March 12

Mostly clear with a few local clouds until afternoon. Early morning visibility mainly in the mainland will be locally limited.

Winds: North 3–4 Beaufort, locally 5 in the Aegean.
Temperatures: Slight increase in the west.

Forecast for Friday, March 13

Mostly clear weather. From midday, local clouds will develop in the west and north, with a chance of isolated rain in the northwest. Early morning and evening visibility will be locally limited, mainly in western and northern mainland areas.

Winds: Southwest 3–5 Beaufort in the west, North 3–5 in the east.
Temperatures: No significant change.
