With spring-like conditions prevailing and the weather acting as an ally, Holy Week begins under particularly favorable circumstances both on land and at sea, according to protothema.gr meteorologist George Tsatrafyllias.
On Great Monday, sunshine will dominate across most parts of the country. Only limited instability is expected, with brief midday showers likely in Central Greece, the Peloponnese, Crete, and the Dodecanese.
Temperatures will show a slight increase, reaching 21–22°C in mainland areas and around 18°C on the islands. Northern winds will remain manageable, posing no significant issues for maritime transport, blowing at up to 4 Beaufort in the Ionian Sea and 6 Beaufort in the Aegean.
In Attica, conditions will remain generally clear. Winds in the Euboean Gulf will not exceed 4 Beaufort, while temperatures are expected to range between 9°C and 21°C.
The favorable weather pattern will persist through Great Tuesday and Great Wednesday, with temperatures climbing even higher—up to 24°C in parts of the mainland.
However, a shift is expected from Maundy Thursday onward, as temperatures begin to fall and atmospheric instability increases.
Looking ahead to the period from Good Friday to Easter Sunday, forecast models currently show significant discrepancies, making it difficult to determine with certainty how weather conditions will evolve during the peak of the holiday period.
