In fact, the Albanian Prime Minister appeared somewhat uncomfortable due to his attire, telling Mr. Mitsotakis that he had not expected such a “formal” reception at the Maximos Mansion. He also added that he “hopes” Greek media will not interpret his casual dress in a “different” way, but rather as “a lack of proper information from my protocol.”

Specifically, Edi Rama said in front of the cameras:
“It is an honour to be here, and I apologize for not being dressed as formally as you, because I did not expect such a reception. I therefore hope that the Greek media will not interpret it differently, but only as a lack of proper briefing from my protocol.”

In response, Kyriakos Mitsotakis said:
“We recognize that you are always very inventive when it comes to the way you dress, and we like that.”
