An 89-year-old man stormed an EFKA office in Kerameikos today with a shotgun, injuring an employee, and then took a taxi while hiding the weapon, arriving at the Court of Appeal on Loukareos Street where he opened fire again and injured four more women. He remains at large.

The 89-year-old rag collector first entered an EFKA building in Kerameikos and shot an employee, injuring him. He then went to the Athens Court of Appeal, where he shot and injured four women. The distance between the two locations is about five kilometers, which, according to initial reports, he covered by taxi while hiding the shotgun inside his jacket. An ambulance and two EKAB motorbikes are at the scene. All injured individuals will be transported to the Red Cross Hospital.

Earlier, the elderly man went to EFKA, went up to the fourth floor, and shot an employee with a shotgun, injuring him in the leg. That victim was also taken to the Red Cross Hospital.
The attacker managed to escape and is being sought. The same reports indicate he is a person with psychological problems.

“A police response team rushed immediately after being informed of the incident. Initial information suggests it is an elderly man who, using a modified shotgun, shot and injured—fortunately lightly—four court clerks, all women. He has reportedly left some letters addressed to newspapers,” said the president of the Athens Bar Association.
