A second attack incident involving a commercial vessel was recorded within 24 hours in the area of the Persian Gulf and the wider maritime zone leading toward the Strait of Hormuz, according to available shipping reports and AIS tracking data.
The vessel, a bulk carrier reportedly located about 11 nautical miles west of Sirik in Iran while heading north toward the Strait, was attacked by multiple small boats at 11:30 UTC on May 3.
Based on AIS tracking data from Pole Star Global, the vessel is highly likely identified as the cargo ship Minoan Falcon. Following the incident, the ship reportedly changed course and is now sailing off Fujairah. The Minoan Falcon is owned by Myron Tsatsakis.
Earlier, a serious security incident was recorded on the night of May 3 in the Strait of Hormuz, when a tanker came under fire from an unknown source, according to a report by UKMTO.
The incident took place approximately 78 nautical miles north of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, in a highly critical maritime area for international navigation and energy transport.
