The pre-congress procedures leading up to the 16th Regular Congress of New Democracy are concluding in Thessaloniki. The main congress will be held from May 15 to 17, 2026, at the Metropolitan Expo exhibition center.
The Thessaloniki pre-congress conference, under the theme “Strong Greece,” will be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 9, in the presence of New Democracy President and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The conference proceedings will take place at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Congress Center (Pavilion 10), beginning at 11:30 a.m., with the participation of MPs from the regions of Central and Western Macedonia, members of local party organizations, representatives of the party’s central administration, and members of ONNED.
The first part of the conference will include speeches by Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, Defense Minister Nikos Dendias, and Environment and Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou.
This will be followed by a speech from European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tzitzikostas.
The pre-congress conference will conclude with a speech by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
