Starting tomorrow, Monday, promotion and graduation exams will begin in high schools across Greece.
More specifically, promotion exams for first- and second-year Lyceum students will take place from May 18, 2026, until June 12, 2026, with June 19 set as the final date for the announcement of results.
As for third-year Lyceum students, graduation exams (also known as “in-school exams”) will also begin tomorrow, Monday, May 18, 2026, but will conclude on Monday, May 25, 2026, as the Panhellenic university entrance exams will follow shortly afterward. The final date for announcing graduation exam results is May 27, 2026.
Final stretch for middle schools
Regarding Greek middle schools (Gymnasiums), classes are scheduled to end on Friday, May 27. Promotion and graduation exams have been scheduled by the Ministry of Education to take place between June 2 and June 15, 2025.
Panhellenic Exams begin at the end of May
It is reminded that the Panhellenic Exams will begin on May 29, 2026, for General Lyceum candidates and on May 30, 2026, for Vocational Lyceum candidates, starting with the subjects of Modern Greek Language and Literature and Modern Greek, respectively.
When elementary schools and kindergartens close
Classes for younger students will continue until mid-June. Specifically, the school year for kindergartens and elementary schools across Greece will end on Monday, June 15, 2026.
